Open /worlds/new and pick a title, a genre (fantasy, sci-fi, noir, romance, adventure, horror), a tone (hopeful, grim, romantic, mysterious, comedic, epic), and a setting. The world is yours from line one.
Free and Pro tiers use the deterministic procedural engine — same seed produces the same story. Creator tier can route through your own LLM for richer output.
Two engines, same interface. The default procedural engine draws from in-house word pools — original prose, no LLM, no chance of reproducing copyrighted material. The optional BYOB engine plugs your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenAI, OpenRouter, LiteLLM, Together, Mistral, Groq, or any local model with an shim) into the prose pipeline.
Both engines pass through the same content filter. Both produce original output. Both are yours to export.
Privacy & encryption: API keys are stored encrypted at rest with PBKDF2 + HMAC. We never log the plaintext. You can delete them anytime.
Each episode opens with a 400-word beat. At the end of the beat, three doors appear — each one a different continuation. You pick one; the world's state updates; the next episode generates from there.
Up to ten episodes per world. After ten, the world concludes — you can start a new one, export the whole story as markdown, or just walk away.
Along the way, the engine tracks your Word Vault (every unique Word of the Day you've met), your streak (consecutive days of engagement), and eight badges (first story, first game, streak keeper, week-1 wonder, 10/25/50 words, fortnight streak).

Yes — that's the Creator tier's whole point. Both go through the same content filter as the procedural engine. Paying for Creator doesn't unlock content that violates platform policy.
